Virginia is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern who is working toward licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of a Qualified Supervisor. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health, with education and training from Universidad Central de Venezuela, Universidad Metropolitana, and the University of the Cumberlands.
Originally from Venezuela, Virginia developed her clinical perspective through experience in psychiatric, outpatient, and medical settings. Her diverse educational and clinical background has contributed to her understanding of the emotional, interpersonal, cultural, and environmental factors that can influence an individual’s mental health and overall well-being.
Virginia believes therapy should provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences. She deeply respects the courage it takes to begin therapy and values the privilege of supporting clients during vulnerable moments in their lives. Her approach encourages clients to sit with discomfort, explore new questions, and recognize that they do not always need to have all the answers for meaningful growth to occur.
Virginia views therapy as a collaborative process guided by the individual needs and goals of each client. She strives to walk alongside her clients as they develop greater self-awareness, explore new perspectives, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier ways of approaching life’s challenges.
In her individual therapy sessions, Virginia draws from psychodynamic, client-centered, and Gestalt approaches, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. She tailors her therapeutic approach to each client’s unique needs, experiences, strengths, and treatment goals.
As a bilingual therapist, Virginia provides psychotherapy in both Spanish and English and values giving clients the opportunity to express themselves in the language in which they feel most comfortable. She offers both in-person and telehealth psychotherapy services, allowing clients greater flexibility in accessing care.
Above all, Virginia believes that no one should have to carry life’s struggles alone. She is committed to creating a therapeutic relationship in which clients feel heard, respected, supported, and empowered throughout their healing and personal growth journey.
